Laparoscopy - video view of abdominal organs
In Kiev our veterinarians carry out this minimally invasive surgical procedure, applying a rigid endoscope introduced through the anterior abdominal wall. Laparoscopy is relevant if X-ray and ultrasound results are not clear enough.
Laparoscopy allows our professionals to diagnose organs and tissues to assess their condition. If volumetric formations are detected, an endoscopic study helps to understand the scale of the problem and determine whether an operation is possible. In the case of laparoscopy special tools can be taken the puncture from modified tissue.
Features of laparoscopy
Laparoscopy involves all the intricacies of the intervention, as follows:
- Standard rules for open surgery are aseptics and antiseptics.
- Preparing of the right tools.
- Preparing of the animal for general anesthesia.
For laparoscopy to be performed, a certain space is needed inside the abdominal cavity. The desired effect is achieved as follows: a small incision is made in the area of the navel, the abdominal wall is raised and a Veresh needle is introduced, and a hose is connected through which the abdomen is filled with carbon dioxide.
The trocar is then installed to inject a rigid endoscope. Thanks to him, the vet is monitoring the abdominal organs in the current mode. For a more detailed survey and palpations, they use an additional trocar and a palpator probe.
