Gastroscopy

If the ingestion process of the animal is disturbed, frequent food burping and vomiting with blood is observed, gastroscopy is prescribed. During the examination, a flexible tube with a small camera is introduced into the oesophagus. The image is displayed on the monitor. Gastroscopy of the oesophagus is performed under general anesthesia.

The study is performed with the aid of a flexible video endoscope which is introduced through the mouth cavity. Thanks to detailed video observation, the doctor assesses the condition, colour, elasticity and motor performance of the mucous gastrointestinal tract, the presence of neoplasms, erosion, bleeding, ulcers, polyps, etc.

• progressive body mass loss
• Impaired swallowing (dysphagia)
• Unmotivated EO increase, white blood cell
• Cancer of the stomach / oesophagus
• Long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (painkillers, antipyretics), hormonal preparations.
