Pet Microchipping in Ukraine 2026: What Pet Owners Need to Know
Updated requirements for pet identification are being introduced in Ukraine. In certain cases, owners of dogs and cats are required to ensure their pets are microchipped and registered in a database.
A microchip is a small electronic device implanted under the pet’s skin that contains a unique identification number.
Microchipping is required for
- pet registration
- issuing veterinary documents
- traveling abroad
- increasing the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners
Why It Matters
Microchipping is an internationally recognized identification standard.
If a pet is lost, veterinary clinics or shelters can scan the chip and identify the owner.
Microchipping may also be required for:
- obtaining a veterinary passport
- crossing borders
- participation in exhibitions
- official pet registration
Home Microchipping Program by Animal Clinic
