Urethroscopy - examination of urethra endoscope

Urethroscopy is the examination of the urethra of male and female animals by an endoscope. It is widely used in humane medicine and is gradually becoming popular in veterinary medicine. Animal Clinic is one of the few veterinary clinics in Ukraine to implement this procedure.

Why would an animal do urethroscopy?

The investigation shall be carried out if:

• We need to test the suspicion for lower urinary tract disease.
• The urinary stone is on the lower section of the urinary system.
• There are chronic infectious diseases.
• We’re planning a urinary tract surgery.
• The animal has injured the area being examined.

As a rule, urethroscopy is part of the bladder survey complex - cystoscopy.

Subtleties of urethroscopy

Our urethroscopy is carried out by the best veterinarians of Kiev, observing strict requirements of antiseptic. They use a high-tech urethroscope to do that. The device is embodied in the form of a tube-tube introduced into the urethra and a lighting system. The light coming out of the machine is completely harmless to the mucous animal.

A miniature camera is also connected to the urethroscope tube, and the entire diagnostic process is broadcast on the monitor screen and fixed on the digital carrier. This gives the veterinarian the opportunity to review the procedure once it has been completed.
