Esophagoscopy

If the ingestion process of the animal is disturbed, frequent food burping and vomiting with blood is observed, an esophagoscopy is prescribed. During the examination, a flexible tube with a small camera is introduced into the oesophagus. The image is displayed on the monitor. Esophagoscopy is performed under general anaesthesia.

Readings for esophagoscopia:

• severe pain, heartburn, burps, difficulty swallowing
• Inflammation of the oesophagus due to thermal or chemical burns
• Ingestion of foreign body in the esophagus
• Bleeding and so on.
