Animal Clinic does not euthanize healthy animals
Dear community, On May 6, the online media UAnimals published an article by Aliona Vyshnytska with a list of Kyiv veterinary clinics that are allegedly ready to euthanize (kill) a healthy animal. The information about them was presented in contrast to other "good" medical institutions, which, according to the author, refuse to perform the procedure. We are sure that the purpose of the article was either to improve public opinion about some veterinary clinics or to worsen attitudes towards others. In any case, Animal Clinic was added to the list of veterinary centers that are allegedly capable of killing a healthy dog.
Here are direct quotes from the text: "At the Animal Clinic veterinary center, they first asked if there were any indications for euthanasia." "I thought I would hear a refusal again. But no", "I asked if there would be any explanations, doctor's examinations and examinations before the "injection" - they said "No, there will be none".
The information about the clinic's readiness to euthanize a healthy animal is not true. Animal Clinic doctors adhere to the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Animals from Cruelty", according to which euthanasia can be performed only in case of detection of an incurable disease or injury of an animal that causes unbearable suffering.
Euthanasia at Animal Clinic requires a veterinarian's examination, examination or diagnostic results obtained in another institution confirming the presence of an incurable disease that causes pain. Unnecessary euthanasia contradicts the principle of humanity, which our doctors adhere to not only as professionals who make efforts to preserve health and life every day, but also as people who love animals.
Spreading false information about the readiness to euthanize a healthy animal causes reputational damage to Animal Clinic. The person who deliberately committed defamation may be held liable. We ask Alyona Vyshnytska to provide indisputable evidence of the information provided in the article of 6.05.24.
